Okay, I guess I'll go first. I'm Adam. I'm 25, 26 next month, and I live just outside of Annapolis, Maryland. I've been running for about as long as I can remember, so that's about 16 years. I ran all through middle school, high school, and college. Some of my accomplishments as a runner:|
4:18 1500 (4:31 mile, converted)
15:10 5,000m (track)
57:10 10 mile
I've also been a high school track coach, but that was back in my hometown in Michigan. My girls' 4x800 relay team won the state championship this past june in 9:31.24.
Pre's always been a motivation to me because he trains the way most runners wish they could train--without fear. He really embodies what hard work, talent, and complete lack of surrender can do. More than that, his coach, Bill Bowerman, is the man I model myself after as a coach and a mentor. When I return to coaching (after a year in the AmeriCorps--the domestic Peace Corps, for anybody who isn't familiar with it), I intend to model myself even more after Bowerman and after Pre, both as a coach/mentor and as an athlete.
